Remington's World > Stoney Releases Her First Single “Lost” Off EP debut, Hate Stoney
Up-and-coming female emcee Stoney and ILLSociety Magazine present “Lost” (Produced by Trackz), the first single off Stoney’s debut EP, Hate Stoney. The Oakland, CA emcee incorporates the heavy influence of Tupac’s passion, Biggie’s wordplay, and Da Brat’s quick spitting delivery into her music, all the while staying relevant and appealing to today’s market.
“Lost” finds Stoney keeping it “trill” next to “ass injections, mannequin, and silicone” letting it be known that “[she] run these hoes”. The track portrays Stoney as a very playful, creative, and quick witted spitter, as she drops lines that express her frustration towards the industry of so called female “rappers”, that lack musical talent and are more so fixated on their visual appeal.
“…They callin me FAKE
So tell me what’s REAL ?
These bitches that don’t write they rhymes got deals
Fuck it, I’ma keep it trill!”
Stoney breaks the “stereotype” embodying superb lyrical ability and delivery skills, all the while maintaining relevance through her music and not relying solely on her appearance.
Be sure to check out Stoney debut single “Lost” and be on the lookout for her 2nd single “Bumpin Makaveli” dropping in October.
Hate Stoney EP dropping November 2012.
